My first public quilt

I'm very much in favor of doing baby quilts, as a quilting beginner. They're small, so the project doesn't overwhelm you. They're a good way to try out techniques; if you don't like that style, you don't have to live with it for long. And the recipients (that is, the parents) are so thrilled to get a handmade present that they don't see the inevitable mistakes.
